Job Summary

To support the monitoring and review of a Contract Framework and day to day operations of an effective and efficient Brokerage Service, to assist with the provision of appropriate care and support services for citizens of Blaenau Gwent.

This post is an internal advertisement, open to Permanent and Fixed Term employees of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council.  Temporary employees are eligible to apply providing they have 24 months continuous employment with the Authority.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised and confident individual to join the Social Services Directorate.  The post holder will identify and select appropriate service providers for care and support packages using a process of selection which is equitable, transparent and fair, in accordance with the department’s domiciliary care contracts.

The successful candidate will be required to assist with responses to requests from Care Managers, Care Coordinators and Occupational Therapists to facilitate timely delivery of person centred care and support to BG citizens in an effective and efficient manner.  This will include liaison with all relevant stakeholders as appropriate to set up, amend, and give notice on, care and support packages for BG citizens living within the community.

The successful candidate will be expected to be flexible, responsive to change and have the ability to organise their own workload on a daily basis and to support the demands imposed by the service.

Educational attainments for the position are 5 GCSEs or ‘O’ Levels at grade C or above to include English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent educational attainments) or substantial experience in a similar role. Also required is demonstrable administrative experience and proficiency in I.T. including the full Microsoft Office package.
