Job Summary

To oversee the strategic co-ordination of all activity relating to the development and implementation of Legacy Funding within Blaenau Gwent, in line with Welsh Government guidelines; including exploration and delivery of complimentary initiatives.

The successful candidate will have significant experience working at a strategic level within social regeneration.

Principal Accountabilities include:

  1. Coordinating a structured programme of activity in identifying and agreeing priorities which will inform Legacy Activity in Blaenau Gwent, which is complimentary to the wider Resilient Communities Programme.
  2. Ensuring relevant strategic partners are fully informed and engaged in planning and prioritizing activity for the delivery of the Legacy Fund; including supporting the exploration of alternative delivery options where appropriate and maximising additional financial and staff resources.
  3. Exploration and development of initiatives as appropriate aligned to the social regeneration agenda.
  4. Undertaking full line management duties to support the Worklessness team and its delivery of activity aligned to employability and community benefits.
  5. Developing clear procedures for managing all aspects of the Legacy Fund in line with Welsh Government guidelines; gaining the necessary internal and Welsh Government approval as necessary.

Qualifications and experience essential to this role include:

  • 5 GCSE’s or equivalent to include Maths & English
  • Degree or equivalent in a Regeneration related field or demonstrable experience
  • Significant experience working strategically within a social regeneration field
  • Proven experience of working at senior level within a relevant environment
  • Experience of leading and directing multi agency initiatives at a strategic level
  • Working knowledge of local partners operating locally/regionally and nationally within Regeneration related sectors
  • ICT use including word, excel and publisher

The position carries an Approved Casual Car User Allowance therefore access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement.
