The postholder would be responsible for helping to improve the potential mental/physical health of fathers and male carers, by providing practical support in a variety of settings, including the home; and to improve the social/emotional development of the child by promoting positive parenting skills and healthy coupling relationships. This includes working in partnership with fathers and male family members through Dads Support Plans to offer support, advice and guidance focused on parenting but also on a range of issues such as behaviour management, financial resilience and working with individuals to raise aspirations and develop confidence and self esteem.
