Grade 4 - £17,333 - £19,817 per annum - 37 hours per week
Temporary opportunities have arisen within the Revenues & Benefits Division for two Benefits Officers to join our busy Team.
 
You will be responsible for providing advice, support and understanding to customers enquiring about benefits, free school meals and school uniform clothing grants via the telephone and face to face interviews. To verify and process applications for Housing Benefits & Council Tax Reduction in accordance with Benefit & Council Tax Reduction Regulations.
 
You will carry out means testing for House Renovation Grants and other means tested benefits, assist with the scanning and indexing of all documents received in the Section and ensure that all customers apply for the benefits they are entitled to.
 
Educational attainments essential for this position are possession of 5 GCSE’s C or above to include English and Maths (or equivalent). You must also have the ability to remain calm in potentially volitile situations and demonstrate tact, discretion and ensure confidentiality is adhered to at all times.
 
Experience of working within a customer facing environment is highly adventageous as well as working knowledge of MS Office.
