An opportunity has arisen within the Revenues & Benefits Division to work as an Engagement Officer on the Universal Support – Delivered Locally Project. The aim of the project is to provide support to a group of customers in receipt of Housing Benefit and other welfare benefits, to identify barriers, in order to support them in preparation for the introduction of Universal Credit.
 
The successful candidate will assist the Project Manager in the development of a robust engagement strategy as well as assisting on the development of an effective communication strategy. You will be required to deal with members of the public who are participating in the project and develop marketing / advertising tools and social media applications for the project.
The successful candidate will possess 5 GCSE or O Levels at Grade C or above to include English and Maths or equivalent educational attainments. You will be able to deal sympathetically, diplomatically and firmly with members of staff and members of the public as well as being able to work as part of a team and meet variable deadlines. Knowledge of the Welfare Reform Agenda is essential.
 
The position carries an Approved Casual Car User Allowance therefore access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement.
