An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join the Social Services Children with Disabilities Team, to undertake decision making in relation to new referrals and to carry out quality assessments of need and formulate individual Care Plans which are informed by best Departmental practice, guidance and resources.The successful candidate will need to ensure that appropriate information is available for service users and carers and to promote the involvement of users and carers in both care planning and service development, assist in ensuring that there is a good understanding of child protection matters in the Team and where appropriate, to manage a caseload and associated administration tasks including preparation of reports and case recordings.The successful candidate will need to be qualified to CQSW; Diploma in Social Work or equivalent and be Registered as a Social Worker by the Care Council for Wales.Experience in substantial post qualifying childcare experience within a statutory children’s services team and experience of undertaking assessments developing care / support plans and writing complex reports for a variety of audiences is essential.The position carries an Approved Casual Car User Allowance therefore access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement.Thorough pre-employment screening is undertaken during the recruitment process. The postholder will be required to complete an application for a Disclosure of Criminal Records.Closing Date: 1pm – Tuesday 2nd December 2014Interview Date: 6th January 2015
