An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Officer within the Regeneration directorate of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council.

 

The successful candidate will deliver the council’s portfolio of financial and non-financial support to Social Enterprises, start-up and new businesses in Blaenau Gwent, to include, managing a caseload of business enquiries, undertaking an initial needs assessment and responding accordingly via the provision of direct support or referral(s) to a relevant partner organisation. You will be responsible for the delivery of business start-up and social enterprise grant programmes, including the appraisal of business plans and associated cash flow/accounting information and budget management. You will also provide Line management to staff based at the VITCC.

 

Education attainments essential for the position are possession of a higher level qualification in Business Administration / Business Management & Leadership or equivalent. Experience of providing business advice to new starts and established businesses, working with public, businesses and third sector organisations. You will have knowledge of business support initiatives and requirements in delivering grant schemes.

 

The post carries an Approved Casual Car User Allowance therefore access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement.
