The Flying Start Team are looking for an enthusiastic, professional individual to join their team within Children’s Services for Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council.

The successful candidate will be responsible for co-ordinating, promoting, delivering, monitoring and evaluating the Welsh Government Early Language provision throughout Blaenau Gwent. They will oversee the Early Language Team in their promotion, organisation and delivery of the Language & Play/Number & Play Talking Tots programmes, as well as facilitating the Welsh Government Training programme to Early Years Workers.

 

The successful candidate will meet frequently with Flying Start Speech and Language Therapists’ to identify service progress and challenges; they will reinforce different language developing strategies for families as recommended.

 

Monitoring and providing statistical information is required by the Welsh Government, along with evaluation of the schemes in practice. The successful candidate will work closely with the Welsh Government to ensure the consistency of delivery and the sharing of good practice.

 

Essential educational attainments for this role are possession of a Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare, Play or related discipline, along with extensive knowledge of Welsh Government initiatives.

 

Experience of working within an Early Years, Childcare, Health, Education or Community Development setting is essential, along with experience of working in partnership with parents to promote improved outcomes for children aged 0-3 years.

 

The position carries an Approved Casual Car User Allowance therefore access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement.
