Job SummaryTo contribute to the efficient operation of the Duty and Referral Team by providing an effective service for the management and processing of referrals received from C2BG and other agencies. To ensure prompt and appropriate response to contacts in line with children’s services policies, procedures and timescales.Full AdvertAn exciting opportunity has arisen within the Duty and Referral Team for a motivated individual with strong organisational skills and the capability to perform functions within the policies and guidelines of the Social Services Department.An ability to effectively prioritise workload and take appropriate action is fundamental to the role as is the ability to collaborate with other teams across the division.The successful candidate will be experienced in dealing with the public and be able to empathise with people who may be experiencing stress or anxiety within their life circumstances.Essential requirements for this role include 3 x GCSE or equivalent (grade A–C, to include English), experience of dealing with the public in a customer care setting, a knowledge of Children’s Services and of the range of issues that can affect families, children and young people.The position carries an Approved Casual Car User Allowance therefore access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement.Thorough pre-employment screening is undertaken during the recruitment process. The postholder will be required to complete an application for a Disclosure of Criminal Records.
