An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to join the Regeneration Services Division. The successful candidate will provide management and direction to the staff within the Employment and Enterprise Team, Tourism and those based at the VITCC and General Offices. You will support the Team Manager in the business planning process to include managing risk and performance, preparing information for reporting in line with directorate and corporate requirements.

 

You will be required to Lead the development and implementation of a range of activities aimed at stimulating and developing an enterprise culture within Blaenau Gwent; contributing to the work of the South East Wales Directors of Environment and Regeneration Regional Framework and representing the Council on the task and finish groups working towards securing European funding for new and the continuation of current projects.

 

You should be educated to a degree level or hold a post graduate qualification in an economic development related or relevant field with proven experience of managing teams and people. It is essential that you have experience of appraising business plans, accounting information and making informed recommendations with regards to grant support. Also experience of managing externally funded projects including grant schemes.

 

This post can also be offered as a secondment opportunity. Before applying for this as a secondment opportunity, candidates should seek approval to be released from their current post by their Line Manager.

 

The position carries an Approved Casual Car User Allowance therefore access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement.
