An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Education Department and they are looking to appoint a part time Educational Psychologist.

The Educational Department is looking to appoint a part time Educational Psychologist to support the Senior Educational Psychologist and Principal Educational Psychologist. The Educational Psychologist will be responsible for consultative and support work with schools, pupils, parents/carers and other agencies.
 
The successful candidate will be accountable for providing a psychological service to a specific patch of schools and early years in order to address the developmental, educational and psychological needs of children and young people in a holistic way.
 
In addition to this, the Educational Psychologist will develop and applying effective interventions to promote learning, psychological wellbeing, social, emotional and behavioural development. Other key accountabilities include providing support to management, ensuring that Educational Psychology involvement is timely and appropriate and to organise, deliver and evaluate in-service training/staff development sessions for school staff, other professionals and parents.
 
 
The successful candidate will be required to be a fully qualified Educational Psychologist who is registered with the HCPC.
 
Other experience and knowledge include:
 
·         Experience of applying and knowledge of SEN legislation
·         Experience of assessment techniques and psychological interventions/strategies
·         Experience of working with schools to help monitor and review the progression of children
·         Experience of using professional judgement and assessment techniques to provide advice for children in a suitable format
·         Good interpersonal and presentation skills
 
Please note: We would also welcome applications from Trainee Psychologists due to qualify in September.
 
It will be essential for applicants to have the ability to travel around the local authority in order to fulfil the duties as detailed in the job description.
