Cwm Primary School is seeking to appoint an efficient and highly professional school clerk to join its happy, hard-working team. The successful candidate will need to be flexible and willing to partake in many aspects of school life.

Responsible to: Headteacher

Salary Scale: Level 5 – point 23-27 (£21,268 - £24,174 pro rata)

Hours of Work: 3 days a week – 39 weeks per annum (working hours can be discussed at interview)

The successful candidate will need to:

  • Have excellent communication skills as they will be the first point of contact at the school.
  • Have very good literacy and numeracy skills – Grade A-C GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths is a minimum requirement
  • Be flexible, organised and able to work well under pressure.
  • Be trustworthy and reliable as they will be dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Be able to work independently and take responsibility for their own work load.
  • Be able to manage finances, including the school budget, and organise school trips
  • Have very good IT skills – competent using Microsoft office (particularly word and excel), be able to use Outlook and a knowledge of SIMS would be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Work well as a member of a team and promote the school in a positive manner
  • Knowledge of first aid would be an advantage
  • A basic knowledge of the welsh language would be an advantage
