We are looking to recruit a Team Manager to manage and supervise the assessment and care planning work of the Locality Team who is responsible for assessing the needs of vulnerable children and their families, formulating care and support plans, and working with children in need of support, accommodation and protection. The role will include the quality assurance of the team’s work and Court work.

We are looking to recruit an ambitious and proactive individual who will be an ambassador for the organisation and the community they serve.

The successful candidate will undertake all duties required by the Director of the Social Services Department which include:

  • Supervision of staff, allocation of work and formal managerial duties
  • Supporting staff attending meetings, conferences and court
  • Development and delivery of training
  • Manage allocated budgets
  • Comply and adhere to the Authority’s policy statement on Health, Safety and Welfare at Work and the Corporate Equality Policy

Educational attainments / Experience / Knowledge:

  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Social Work or equivalent
  • Registered with Social Care Wales
  • Management qualification
  • Significant post-qualifying experience of statutory child care
  • Budget management experience
  • Direct involvement with child protection
  • Ability to Chair complex meetings

The position carries an Approved Casual Car User Allowance therefore access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement.
