The Headteacher & Governing Body of Glyncoed Primary School are looking to appoint an inspirational & dynamic Deputy Headteacher with a passion for school improvement & exemplary classroom practice. The successful applicant will have up to date knowledge & understanding of the National Mission for Wales, be a strategic thinker with proven leadership, management and interpersonal skills.

Glyncoed Primary School is at the heart of the community, situated in the Glyncoed area of Ebbw Vale. We believe in order to learn effectively, children need to feel happy and secure.  The sense of security we wish to promote is reinforced by our practice. The school has 367 pupils on roll and a dedicated team of teaching and support staff. The school recently had a good Estyn report and governors are keen to appoint a Deputy Headteacher who can continue to build on the school’s successes.

The Governors will provide good support for the successful candidate who will demonstrate a strong commitment to working closely with them to provide high quality leadership and the best possible education for children.

Governors will support the successful candidate in all aspects of school life; thereby creating a practice of effective learning and development throughout the school and its wider community.

Thorough pre-employment screening is undertaken during the recruitment process. The post holder will be required to complete an application for a Disclosure of Criminal Records.

Interviews: 10th & 11th April 2019

Stage 1: Shortlisted candidates will be observed by the Headteacher week beginning the 1st April 2019.

Stage 2: Shortlisted candidates will be expected to be available for interview on the 10th & 11th April, times to be arranged.

All candidates will be notified on Friday 29th March 2019, if they are required for interview.
