The Trading Standards Team is looking for professional individual to join their team to provide intervention and advice to consumers and businesses within Blaenau Gwent in line with relevant Service Level Agreements such as Citizens Advice Consumer Advice (CACS) and maintaining appropriate records.  This will involve providing assistance to vulnerable consumers with more complex enquiries, including undertaking casework and county court assistance where appropriate and gathering intelligence to facilitate criminal intervention by the Service.  You will also undertake visits and assistance to vulnerable scam victims, acting upon intelligence from the National Scams Hub and other information available to the service and assist in criminal investigations as necessary.

Essential criteria for this position include a degree or equivalent in a relevant field or significant demonstrable experience in Trading Standards.  You should have experience of dealing with the public and business, at all levels, including interviewing skills (preferably within a legal context) and knowledge of civil and criminal Trading Standards consumer law.

The position carries an Approved Casual Car User Allowance therefore access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement.

Hours:                      22.12 (3 Days per week)
