Job Summary

Blaenau Gwent Council’s Children’s Services want to recruit a skilled, enthusiastic and motivated Project Officer to support the Early Years Team in the project management of the Welsh Government Early Years Integration Transformation Pathfinder and the First 1000 days programmes at a local level. The post-holder will support the coordination of a review of multi-agency support for families and their children from conception to age 7 and will help develop alternative models of service delivery, building on collaborative and integrated working.

As Project Officer you will work alongside all key stakeholders who deliver early years services, including Health, Education, Flying Start, Families First, third sector and private organisations.  It will be essential to take the views of parents, carers and families into account and ensure that their experiences and needs and those of their children are kept in focus, thus ensuring the new system has the unique needs of each child at its heart.

You will undertake research and analysis into the sector and will be confident in facilitating and delivering workshops and consultation events.  You will be able to demonstrate previous project management skills and experience and will be a confident communicator who can complete strategic reports and design presentations to suit multiple audiences.

Blaenau Gwent Integrated Partnership Board (Health and Social Care) has recently identified grant funding to develop a new position to support the development of a sustainable catering enterprise based around social business principles, whilst also enhancing the training element of the business to support individuals to achieve their full potential.

As the newly appointed Project Officer you will work and engage with a range of stakeholders to develop the catering enterprise within our Community Options Team, developing a viable business model for the service, as well as identifying and enhancing new opportunities to grow the business.

The position carries an Approved Casual Car User Allowance therefore access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement.

Thorough pre-employment screening is undertaken during the recruitment process.  The postholder will be required to complete an application for a Disclosure of Criminal Records.
