The Service Manager – Inclusion provides strategic leadership, management and vision necessary for the effective and continued development of the range of statutory inclusion services, so that all children, including those with additional learning needs (ALN) and special educational needs (SEN) have their needs met and the Council complies with the legal framework underpinning the Code of Practice for SEN in Wales.  

The Service Manager – Inclusion will ensure that all activities of the service, work effectively to support the needs of schools and pupils with additional learning needs.

The Service Manager – Inclusion will contribute to the development and implementation of the Inclusion Service, and the Education Directorate’s vision for all children and young people across Blaenau Gwent. They will work closely with schools and other education settings to secure appropriate access to learning and development which enables all learners to thrive, and so that no pupil suffers disadvantage because of additional learning needs.

A degree, or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline is essential for this role, and post-graduate qualifications are desirable. Evidence of successful resource and financial management and maximization of available grants is also essential.

This post is an internal advertisement, open to Permanent and Fixed Term employees of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council.  Temporary employees are eligible to apply providing they have 24 months continuous employment with the Authority.
