The Adult Services department within Blaenau Gwent Social Services has recently reviewed its structure and has created a new position of Service Manager for Long Term Care and Support. A copy of the new structure is attached.  

We are therefore looking to recruit a qualified social worker or allied health professional (Nurse / Therapist etc) who has knowledge and experience of managing within a health and / or social care provision. You will be an integral part of our Blaenau Gwent social care family, and will work closely with our locality health community health team senior leaders, delivering on our strategic and operational priorities including leading our two locality community care teams where we promote strength based outcome based support.

You will also lead on the care and support we provide to our unpaid family carers, the support we provide at our ‘Hospital hubs/ sites’ and will be key in further embedding our integrated approaches across our Blaenau Gwent health and social care teams. You will be required to oversee relevant budgets, assist managers to balance competing priorities and support our amazing staff team focussing on their development and wellbeing. Finally, you will oversee the day to day strategic leadership of Cwrt Mytton, our 35 bedded dementia care home based in Abertillery and will be supported to become the responsible individual (RI) for this setting.
