The Family Information Service Support Officer will support all activities of the Family Information Service ensuring an effective service for families, children, young people and professionals, responsive to the needs of clients and providing the highest quality of service and customer care.  The post holder will ensure The Family Information Service (FIS) is actively promoted, well used and a central hub for information.

You will support the co-ordination of the Summer of Fun programme; making bookings for activities agreed, ensuring events are set up for online bookings, promotional materials are produced and shared, working with local and national organisations to promote Summer of Fun activities, liaising with activity providers, ensuring monitoring and evaluation information is submitted to Welsh Government within deadlines.

You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a number of regular information points for families, children, young people and professionals, through consultation with Health colleagues, Employers, Flying Start, Families First, Job Centre Plus and other Family Support services responsive to the needs of clients and provide the highest quality of service and customer care.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the Local Authority.

Working hours: The post holder will be required to be available for up to 22hrs per week for a 6-month period. Please note: This post is currently funded until 31st November 2022.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Good educational attainments and possession of NVQ III in Business Administration or equivalent relevant qualification
  • Substantial IT experience
  • Proven experience working in a busy office environment or customer service environment.
  • Experience of working with public, private and/or the voluntary sector organisations
  • Ability to work in an appropriate, sensitive manner maintaining confidentiality and impartiality. Courteous and responsive to the needs of individuals.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload with excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Highly motivated individual
  • Be an effective communicator
  • Current driving license and access to own transport for work purposes
  • Commitment to working Flexible hours including some evenings or weekend work
