Following a recent review it has been agreed that Business Support will manage the facilities across the agile working hubs (Anvil Court, general Offices, Blaina ICC, ViTCC, Energy Centre). This is a new workstream and will involve the development of processes and procedures to best facilitate the way in which the agile working hubs are managed consistently.
This role will develop over time but the successful candidate will be expected to be heavily involved in areas such as coordination of facilities management, health and safety, income generation through use of facilities, management of the corporate receptions, alongside development of hybrid working tools such as desk / room bookings, hybrid mail and consolidated print management.
The Senior Business Support Officer will have a critical role in the management of a team of people supporting the Council’s Corporate Landlord and Reception functions. Having direct supervision responsibility for approx. 6 staff, alongside leading a wider team of 18 that supports a variety of functions for the Technical Services, Catering, Cleaning and Corporate Receptions
We are looking for a dynamic individual with excellent communication skills who can manage a number of disciplines, with emphasis on the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. A key part of the role will be the management of existing tenants and the generation of income against facilities’ hire. The role will also require high standards of customer services, as we begin to blend together our receptions into a cohesive service that will serve customers, elected members and staff.
The range of services operating from this team is diverse and many positive changes have been made over recent years, with the introduction of new systems and different ways of working. The successful post holder will continue to embed and improve existing systems, engaging with colleagues in Corporate Services as part of existing service reviews and digital programmes.
Experience of managing staff and being able to adapt own workload and the priorities of others will be essential. The operational demands of the service can change quickly, the Senior Business Support Officer will need to be able to adapt to the changing demands quickly and professionally.
This role is service based to facilitate the appropriate changes and create the consistency required across all working hubs.
Thorough pre-employment screening is undertaken during the recruitment process.
