1392 School (NOR)

Required for Summer Term commencing on 3rd June 2024, subject to completion of pre-employment and safeguarding checks.

Ebbw Fawr Learning Community was established on 1st September 2012 as the first purpose built 3-16 Maintained School in Wales and is located on two separate sites in a regeneration area which includes an FE College, Hospital, offices and housing.

Our children, young people and families are looking for a committed Headteacher to lead this learning community. They need an exceptional person who will continue to build on our strong progress and who can raise aspirations, realise potential and have an influential role in securing the futures of our students. Could you be this person?

Governors are looking to appoint an individual who, using their experience, knowledge and personality can build strong communities within and outside the school.

The school has a relentless focus on wellbeing and inclusion, fully supported by our staff. The headteacher will need to use both innovation and experience to support and enhance current success in securing the best possible outcome for each individual within the Ebbw Fawr catchment area as they progress from Nursery to Year 11.

Experience of strategic planning, robust governance procedures, human resources policies and application along with an appreciation of the challenges of a two site 3-16 and cluster Primary School delivery model will be essential to success in this unique role. In return the candidate will have the support of an established and experienced senior team, committed staff teams and an active and engaged Governing Body.

The Ebbw Fawr Learning Community has made strong progress since its establishment with good practice and innovative processes recognised by ESTYN, and is seeking a determined and driven Head Teacher who is able to build on current successes.

Please view our Estyn Report via - Ebbw Fawr Learning Community | Estyn (gov.wales)

This really is an exceptional opportunity to build on our success to date and to provide vision and strategy to shape our future as an outstanding model of all-through school with strong community links.

Interested candidates have an opportunity to visit the Learning Community’s campuses at 9.30am on 21st November 2023. If you would like to attend this open session please contact Marie Anderson, Business Manager 07504 047939 by Monday 20th November 2023 so that we can confirm arrangements with you.

The Ebbw Fawr Learning Community is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Thorough pre-employment screening is undertaken during the recruitment process. The postholder will be required to complete an application for a Disclosure of Criminal Records.
