We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated graduate to work as a Graduate Environmental Health Technician with a view to progressing to be a qualified and CIEH registered Environmental Health Practitioner.
Applications will be considered from Students who have completed a BSc or MSc in Environmental Health. The Council will consider applications from candidates who are due to complete their professional academic qualification this year.
The role available is 37 hours per week for 12 months and includes an attractive annual leave and flexible working package. CIEH registration fees will be paid for submission of the CIEH Environmental Health Practitioner Portfolio and Professional Discussion.
Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council can offer a variety of training activities suitable to fulfil all the Portfolio Intervention Areas to achieve Registered Environmental Health Practitioner status.
During your time with us you will also gain workplace experience in the following areas:
- Communicating with colleagues and customers both orally and in writing
- Working in a team
- Using IT in a work setting applying various software packages
- Researching and reporting specific information
- Report Writing
- Gain knowledge of appropriate legislation
- Work experience in an appropriate role related to the qualification.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and committed with a dynamic approach to their work and to providing high quality services, playing an important role within a forward-thinking Environmental Health Team.
