Are you a qualified Health and Safety Officer looking for part time work with flexibility and good benefits to include some home working? In Blaenau Gwent Council we are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Health and Safety Officer to work 18.5 hours per week as part of a busy Health and Safety Team providing advice and support to all services of the Council. 

What does the role do?

The role advises and supports managers on all aspects of Health & Safety and is responsible for ensuring compliance with Organisational policies and regulations.  You will be required to analyse data and interpret technical information on a vast range of topics that can affect Health, Safety and Welfare as well as fire safety at work.

You will have the flexibility to use your initiative and creativity to work on solutions to improve processes and create meaningful relationships with stakeholders.

About you

Knowledge, skills and experience required for this role include:

- In-depth knowledge of employment Health & Safety

- Ability to communicate confidently at all levels both written and orally

- Able to prioritise own workload

- Excellent customer service skills

- Experience of legislation and case law

- Relevant academic qualification – level 7 or above.
