• Utilise specialist facilities, including a hydrotherapy pool and ceiling hoists, to aid students' mobility and physical development.

• Foster communication and interaction using assistive technologies, Eye-Gaze, PECS, Makaton, or other relevant methods.

• Provide pastoral care and emotional support, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.

• Engage with families and carers, maintaining strong relationships to support learner progress.

• Maintain accurate records and assessments, ensuring compliance with school policies and best practices.

Requirements of PMLD Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

• Proven experience working with ALN students, particularly those with PMLD or complex needs.

• Strong background in Early Years education, ideally within an ALN setting.

• Familiarity with hydrotherapy, sensory learning, and mobility support strategies.

• Experience using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools is desirable.

• A compassionate, patient, and adaptable teaching approach.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Have an enhanced DBS registered for both Child and Adult Workforces or be happy to apply for one.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks; including providing an enhanced DBS certificate on completion of an application for a new check.

Join us as a PMLD Teacher and help shape the future of our learners!
