As Revenues Officer you will assist in the input of data to maintain an accurate database for the administration of Council Tax, Business Rates and Sundry Accounts.

You will conduct interviews and provide advice and information to customers and members of the public. You will negotiate repayment arrangements and where necessary, assist in pursuing appropriate enforcement action. Understanding and empathising with the customers’ situation, you will offer help and support and encourage the public to apply for any entitlements for which they qualify.

Essential criteria includes a minimum of 5 GCSE or O Levels at Grade C or above to include English and Maths (or equivalent educational attainments), experience of working within a customer facing environment and a working knowledge of Microsoft Desktop applications. Also essential is the ability to remain calm in volatile situations, to demonstrate tactfulness, discretion and confidentiality at all times and the ability to deal sympathetically, diplomatically and firmly with both members of staff and members of the public.
