An exciting opportunity has presented itself within the Business Support Service for a highly organised, enthusiastic and confident individual able to rise to the challenges of a busy support service.  Ability to work independently and use own initiative with a confident and positive attitude towards working with all stakeholders. 

Principal accountabilities for this role include:

  • Arranging and attending relevant meetings and disciplinary panels via TEAMs and Face-to-Face to take notes/ detailed minutes.
  • Production of agendas and collation of agenda items for relevant meetings.
  • Distribution of actions/ minutes to attendees and other relevant officers/ external professionals in a timely manner;
  • Formatting self-service documents i.e. presentations and reports;
  • Dealing with basic service requests and queries from members of the public, elected members and external organisations and redirecting them, if necessary;
  • Processing of incoming and outgoing mail, via electronic and manual systems;
  • Scanning and filing documents using the Council’s EDM system;
  • Booking appointments for individual services to support their business needs;
  • Typing routine documents and correspondence that do not form part of the service model;
  • Raising orders and processing invoices via the Council’s E-Purchasing system;
  • Updating spreadsheets and databases via data entry;
  • To provide reception cover as required across the agile working hubs within the borough,

Experience of working in a business support environment and dealing with a wide variety of requests and issues together with a rounded knowledge of Council services will be of great advantage in this role.
